As I sit here and listen to this song, I realize that this song has a great message! I also realize that people take this video WAY too seriously. Such as: “I illegally downloaded this song because you said it isn’t about the money. I hope you understand”. Allow me to tell you what I’ve realized in Economics. The world has limited resources. In order to prevent everyone going for a free-for-all, there has to be a sence of restriction. Welcome to money! This video, as I see it, has nothing to do with the fact you have to pay to get the song. It’s the other thing. You pay me for my time, etc…. Just listen to the song!

IRC and Staff Members in my eyes.

Let it be known that I do not believe in bad staff displays in public channels. When a network owner hand picks his staff members, he selects them to monitor and manage the network on his behalf. Therefore, his staff members display him.

Now, when one of those staff members wants to display their own opinion, I have no problem with that. But, when that staff member veers off his or her wagon and goes beyond that opinion barrel so much as to say they “don’t give a shit” about what a user, or another staff member, says in a channel for all viewing public to see, I will not accept that. Everyone has the right to their own opinion. If your staff members want to argue in front of the public eye, they should NOT display you or be part of your staff. Staff members should be able to tell themselves when to keep their hole closed.

New Twitter

Something that I’ve noticed lately is that twitter.com, a popular social networking and microblogging service, has decided to redo their user’s experience by redesigning their site. Now I, for one, am really excited to try this new design out. But I have a problem with twitter regarding this.

The day twitter announced this change was on September 14th 2010. And which they, in the process of WEEKS, would roll out their new design. In my opinion, it’s not a very bright idea. To tell users what’s new, and then have them wait an extraneous amount of time to even get it. What if they don’t like it? Other sites will announce their new feature (and sometimes make a video), saying what’s changed and everyone would have that new feature all at once on that date. Why couldn’t you just release this redesign all at once?

If twitter didn’t tell us about this new feature and released it afterwards SLOWLY, nobody would be waiting in agony in front of their monitor for what seems to be weeks. I thought the “Big Night” was the actual release date…

Things that piss me off on IRC

You guys are the number one reason why I get pissed off on IRC. Unneeded amounts of lol, lmao, lmfao, kicks, bans, attention grabbers, the ‘?’s when the question is in plain english, stupidity, retarded requests, and just annoying in general.

Abusive Staff and Channel Moderators- I fall under this catagory but not most of the time

I probably don’t see one ounce of reason being their actions 8/10 of the times they do their crap. Then again, If your network doesn’t have a purpose to exist, You probably shouldn’t exist anyway. Unless your Atheme, they’re just unique that way.

People that can’t understand each other - I fall under this catagory also

Users that are full of themselves - I fit here sometimes. Trying to work on it

This is when users think they rule the network and not the staff in charge and think everything should revolve around them.

Once your user, now your spammer

These are the users that, when you kick/ban them, think they have the right to private message you and bug the fucking shit out of you saying “Unban me you ass!” over and over and over and OVER again. Guess who’s getting ignored and who’s NOT coming back?

Stupid Subs!

I’m sitting here in 2nd hour and there is this stupid sub who will not leave my and my friend alone! We are doing our work! So stop bugging the fuck outta us! PLEASE! Maybe it’s because we are eating “OnYums” in a computer lab. Oh well. Now she wants to go to the office and ask them if we are allowed to eat! COME ON! Just go away!

Problems with learning spanish – Problemas con aprendiendo el español

Learning english -> spanish for the most part is easy. But when it comes to those times where the book says some one/two word thing in english and the translation into spanish is some odd 2-3 words, you know that’s not what it really means. This kinda pissed me off. I learn better knowing the literal translation. Here’s what I have.

• sometimes -> a veces -> at times
• again -> otra vez -> another time
• next to -> al lado de -> [at|to] the side of
• why -> por qué -> for what

Oh, and I learned this in class. “I’m going to play football!”. There’s three lessons in that sentence.

I’m going -> Voy a. (Use Estoy yendo and my teacher will choke you. Jk. xD)
to play football -> jugar al fútbol. (Spanish uses jugar + al + sport/game to show what you’re going to play)
al -> a + el (to|at the; you cannot combine a + la if the thing you’re talking about ends in -a. You leave it at ‘a la’)

I’m going to play football -> Voy a jugar al fútbol -> I’m going to play at the football

It’s confusing yes i know, but once you got it, you won’t even need to think about it.

Take that Spanish! I can research!

Freenode had some issues… NETSPLIT

Around January 27 12:10 am Freenode encountered one of its horrible netsplits i have ever seen. I was disconnected.. 3 times? There was also some services issues.

Anyways.. back to the real part of it. This image was provided by my friend Zach (i thank him much since i cannot take a screenshot) It shows that almost 1000 freenode users were redirected to ##overflow due to the netsplit that lasted about an hr? Yea….. Hope this never happens again.

Hello world!

Hello everyone. Hope you are doing great this weekend.I just told myself that i needed to blog so here i am. So here i am, listening to pandora just chilling out doing basically nothing… I got ScrapIRC to run on ShadowIRCd. I dont think you have ever heard of that IRCd before but that is what we are using. I don’t think it is a well known IRCd like UnrealIRCd. But there are some advantages to that. I’m not going to say..

School is still boring. My best friend just lost her best friend and now i have to live with them complaining everyday at the bus stop.. What fun that will be. Oh and its in the middle of winter…. Speaking of winter

Christmas i can tell will be a bummer because my best friend and i were downstairs messing with the Christmas lights dancing downstairs. Unfortunately, that caused some lights to, well, burn out… About a week later my mom knew it was us and we got in trouble cause only around half the lights worked… So my mom is getting replacements… And my mom hasn’t started Christmas shopping YET…. so my mom has an empty tree at the moment. Hum bug. (JK)

Thats all im gonna write about today in my life, i need to get back to work on ScrapIRC and yapping on freenode.
